Winona LaDuke is an internationally renowned Native environmentalist, popularly known as Ralph Nader's running mate in the 1996 and 2000 presidential elections. She founded the Indigenous Women's Network and has served on the board of Greenpeace, USA. A winner of the Reebok Human Rights Award, she used the proceeds to found the White Earth Land Recovery Project. Ms. LaDuke is also director of the environmental program for the Seventh Generation Fund, which supports grassroots Native initiatives in environmental justice and community restoration. In 1994, she was named by Time Magazine as one of America's 50 most promising leaders under 40 years of age.
